Turn on the coffee!
Since at work we can only wear black and tan , I found a cute prairie skirt in 100% cotton and lined cheap it came in lots of colors. Ok good but I need black or tan. Found black no prob. went back today to see if there was a white one in my size and yes there was! Came home and made 3 pots of coffee and its now dying a beautiful khaki color yay something light and cool to wear in this heat wave and stay in store dress code.

I LOVE it!
I scorched some muslin while working on Martha's Christmas Stockings for Soldier's drive last year, and tea staining totally got me out of the jam. I hope all goes well with your skirt!

It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Re: Turn on the coffee!
Just figured the coffee would make a darker stain then tea... besides I'm not a coffee drinker so didn't bother me to use coffe for stain as tea now your messing with the good stuff...lol

Re: Turn on the coffee!
The only time I used coffee to stain anything (on purpose!) was when I made a coffee filter wreath for my mom. She's a smoker, so anything white in her house doesn't stay white for long, but she also LOVES coffee. So I dyed the filters with some super strong coffee so they were a nice tan colour and it had the added bonus of smelling like coffee lol She loves it and tells me it still smells like coffee (and I made it over a year ago!). Can't say I ever thought about dying clothes with it though, smart idea!

Re: Turn on the coffee!
How do you get the coffee or tea to stay?? Wouldn't it wash out in the laundry??
Enlighten me!
