Default Singer Futura XL-400 Embroidery and Sewing Machine!

Ok, I am really trying to work out the Embrodery/sewing machine issue. I found this on Over Stock.
    http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewi...4/product.html

One of the things that really drew me is it says it can: Multi-hoop capability to embroider designs larger than one hoop: Up to 18.5 x 11.

Ok, I have no idea how you do this or even if I would ever really use it in that way but it seems the one thing that I hear is get the biggest hoop you can afford.

    Any input?
If you are familiar with this machine, does it do a good job of just sewing also? Is the embrodery it does good? Is it easy/difficult to figure out? I feel I would really be on my own with it not purchasing it from a dealer but the price is one that I think I would be able to look at spending in the near future.
    Be blessed,
    Sandy

That simply means that by moving your hoops around during the embroidery process that you can make a bigger design. The largest hoop that comes with the machine is 10 x 6".

I can't really tell you anything else about the machine.

I have the Singer Futura ce-350. It does not have multihoop function which is why I want to upgrade. The quality of the designs I stitch is great. I love my machine except for the small hoop, no continuous hoop function and a small throat. I am sorry but that is all I have to offer you.

I have the same machine as Lisa and I have been very satisfied with it. She's right, it doesn't accommodate the larger hoop, but I've never really had need of that at this point. The small throat? Additional justification for sending quilts to a LA!!!

Thanks for your input. I think I have talked myself out of it AGAIN. I went to Amazon and some good reviews but some bad. I think I am back to when and if I do this it will need to be through my dealer.

I can do lap quilts on my machine and am even going to try a bigger one when I make one. I am saving for a new machine and am aiming for that upgrade in November.

You need no sewing skills to use the embroidery part. You literally push a button and change the thread when needed. It takes getting used to the software which is user friendly but the machine does all the sewing work for you. Just go for it!

I have the Futura XL-400 and I love it! My hubby bought it for me 4 years ago when it first came out. In fact we had to wait for it. I love it as a sewing machine and I have done some embroidery on it and I am happy with that too. It is not a professional embroidery machine but I think it does really nice work. I still learn something every time I embroider something. It sews beautifully. I made 2 quilts at Christmas time measuring about 75x80 and quilted it on this machine. I think you would be very happy with it.

  10. Thanks Lisapc thanked for this post
