    Default questions about sewing curves

    Hello ladies!

This doesn't really have anything to do with "quilting" but it's still a sewing question!! lol

I'm wondering if anyone could give me some hints, tips, videos or something on how to easily sew a curve without going all crooked...? I'm trying to sew a flower petal which in turn will be turned inside out... If that makes any sense?

For some reason I'm having issues trying to turn a curve, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions on this would be helpful.

    Thanks

The Craftsy BOM is free and I think this month is about sewing curves.

Ughhh sorry I can't help you, I hate curves. I have tried and tried and got it right once or twice but I know I'll try again. I'm going with the curve master foot next.

Try using smaller stitches, going slow, and don't pull your fabric to sew around the curves. Stop with the needle in the down position and readjust your fabric as necessary. I have the Curvemaster foot to sew apple cores and Drunkard's Path and I can't get the hang of it. There is quite a learning curve to it.

If you think you are going slow enough, go even slower.

I find it easier to sew those curves if I draw the sewing line on the fabric, shorten the stitches and go very slow. When turning sometimes clipping the seam will also allow it to lay nicer.

Thanks ladies, I think I am going to try the smaller stitch idea. I already go slow as I can. But I think making the stitches smaller will help tremendously, thanks again!!
