August UFOs flying off the shelf!
As tomorrow is 1st September and the first day of Spring in Australia I decided it was a good time to begin my 'Spring Cleaning' and actually deal with some UFOs. I started to make a 'to do' list and was surprised how much stuff there was (considering I only started quilting 6 months ago.)
I have actually finished 9 projects up to now. Here's where I'm up to.... 5 down and 6 to go!
1. Sophie's Quilt - finished, wrapped and given to her for her birthday on Tuesday:D
2. Emilies quilt - top quilted, ready to trim and bind:icon_happy:
3. Bailey's bedding - finished and given to Paul (SIL) for his birthday as it's his dog:D
4. 6 Christmas mats - pin basted, 2 quilted and working on the rest at the moment......:icon_happy:
5. Red Flower table runner - finished and on display until I decide who to give it to:D
6. 2 purple and blue runners with pink applique flowers - tops done:icon_rolleyes:
7. Autumn leaf table cloth - top done and ready to pin-baste next:icon_happy:
8. lounge throw - on the floor ready to pin baste and quilt:icon_happy:
9. gum-nut throw - top done (back on shelf):)
10.Dragonfly throw - top done (back on the shelf):)
11.Chateau Rouge Quilt - waiting for yardage then plan to send it away to be quilted as it is rather large!:D
Planning to get done by Christmas
12. Batik quilt (for my son?) got the black for sashing so will make a start soon
13. Retro Breeze - a framed hourglass block design (Like my Chateau Rouge one) for my daughter in shades of blue/green/brown
14. Sentiments quilt - Christmas design but not happy with the fabrics - Daily Deal impulse buy - double slice layer cake:(
15. Dylan Jelly Roll - friendship braid design (another Daily Deal)
16. Quilters Bag - going on a workshop to make this so should get it finished on the day;)
17. Citrus bright Jelly Roll daily deal - not sure what to do with it yet:o
18. Music quilt - fabric due any day now (black and white with touches of red)using Jenny's Layer Cake + Jelly Roll pattern;)
Scary when you write it all down and see what there is to do!!

Did you get that beautiful Christmas layer cake that has all the gold on it? I did and thought it was beautiful. Not sure what I am going to do with it but love the fabrics and I have a few that will blend with it well, definitely going to get done before Christmas, maybe a double slice???

Re: August UFOs flying off the shelf!
Off to the footie today (Aussie Rules) but plan to finish quilting the Christmas mats if possible so I can take them with me to hem the binding - we're having a short break next week in a quiet place by the sea on the Yorke Peninsular so I'll take some sewing, knitting and a book!

Love the picture.......your list made me tired just reading it; although I have three quilts ready to quilt..........pin basted...just have to heal more...still have the 15 lap quilts to make before Christmas...and the quilts that need to be done! Yikes, I better get a move on....still have 2 weeks of medical leave before I go back to work....

A bit disappointed with the Sentiments fabric - no gold and rather dull green, red, grey colours and I cut it wrong - 6"/4" instead of 6 1/2" and 3 1/2" so difference in sizes not so pronounced. I've picked out the deep red for sasing/border and hope it will 'grow on me'
