Default Hi Everyone! I have missed you!!

Hi All!!! I'm back and I have missed you all! I have a lot of catching up to do! I have been really busy with both my daughters (both have brand new babies) and, as the summer camping season got into full swing we were away many weekends and for a few weeks during July and August; as well, summer brings us outside more often meaning less time in the sewing room and less time on the computer. I did manage to get a lap quilt finished before the summer - it was my goal to bring it camping with me, which I did!
Quick little story: as we were getting ready for one of our camping trips, I mentioned to my husband that I was thinking about bringing my sewing machine. Well, he gave me a look like "you're kidding, right?" He was thinking about the room and the weight, both of which he watches very carefully (my Singer 99K weighs a ton). So, needless to say, I didn't bring it. Well, a few weeks later, while enjoying another week-long camping trip, my husband noticed that the lady in the campsite next to ours was sitting at the picnic table sewing with her sewing machine! Well, my eyes lit up!! Really??? I have to meet this woman! The next day, I met her and found out that she is a quilter and that she lives in a town very close to mine! She invited me to her quilting guild (I have never attended one before). So now, will I bring my sewing machine with me???? Not on my next trip (we are going this weekend), but very soon it will be coming with me!!! (And by the way, we upgraded our car and trailer so now space and weight are NOT an issue anymore!)
Well, I'm glad to be back on-line and seeing how every one is doing! I'll be popping in more often now as camping season is winding down.

Welcome back. I took my machine camping with me back in June. I would sew, and quilt while DH fished. Worked out quite nicely actually.

Sounds like you had a great summer. You all must camp in different areas than I do. No electricity or even toilet facilities, other than a bush. And the last time we went, a cow ate our loaf of bread. Nice that they lease National forest land for grazing, but that doesn't include my bread!

Aloha Christine, glad to see you again and that you had a nice summer.

Congrats on the grandbabies. I was on the Mainland to help DD Kat with new GD Penelope. They are such joy aren't they.

Welcome Home ChristineB!!! Now if I were you, I would get myself a little Singer or whatever I could afford to take with on camping trips - He He - guess that's what I want anyway, it would be nice to have a back-up machine in case mine ever had to go in for repairs! I have been without internet at times but I do not want to be without a sewing machine! I shudder at the very thought! It would not be pretty around here!
