I am so VERY close to having the infamous COLORES quilt done (yes, I'll post pics, I promise!). In fact, I could put a binding on it right now and call it good. Which would be useful, since I'm going to see my best friend this evening and would LOVE to give it to her! However, I called yesterday and had her husband measure the bed so I could make sure it's the right size. It came out to 75" square. He informed me it would need to be about 88" long. (sigh) So, I'm trying to devise a border for it. The entire quilt was quilted one block at a time, then the quilted blocks hand stitched together. Which means I need to do the same for the border. I think I have enough of the fabric leftover that I can insert it into the border somehow.Just need to figure out how. What I "think" I'm going to do is make the border 6" wide, layer the back and the batting (hooray for spray adhesive!) Then use the same techniques as Jenny's quilt as you go baby blanket to make the front. 6 - 10" of black, then a 2" wide piece of the colored fabric. When I'm all done, the quilt should measure about 87" square.
Any thoughts on this?
