Jean, retiring from a career earlier than planned or than you would hope is a tough thing. I believe you are one of the worlds teachers, wherever you go or whatever you do you will end up teaching someone something.

The quilting class will i hope fulfill your need to teach, at least until you have the space to breath and think. Whatever lies in your future I am sure it will be fab.

Daisy, I retired from my principal job because of my husband's illness, which took me out of the classroom 2-3 times a week. You know how that goes! I definitely was not ready then. This job was sent down from heaven and fell into my lap. It has sustained me for 7-1/2 years. Now, I am ready, I think. I don't want to keep working until I drop dead. It's time, hope it is a good semester, some endings are made in hell,(the last one was,) hope this one is different!
