I'm kinda new here but wanted to know if anyone had heard of Longarm University near Kent Washington. I am going this weekend for a four day intensive training on a Longarm and getting some education on running a Longarm business. I'm so excited!

That sounds exciting...do you have a longarm?
I have purchased one but am still getting the studio completed. I hope to get it by the end of this month.
Never heard of the school, but sounds like a fun weekend.
Sounds like fun, hope you have luck with it!
I've heard of it and have taken part in a couple mystery quilts. What I like about Cindy Roth's mysteries is they are 2 parters. One part is the piecing of the quilt and the second is the machine quilting. Lots of fun. The machine quilting is geared to all quilting machines; short, mid and longarms.
there are plenty of free tutorials on the site as well.
One thing I will admit is I don't like how Cindy quilts her feathers. There's something about them that don't look right...but that's me!
Oooh, I'm so jelly! I would love to do this! No, I don't have a long arm but I'd still like to know what it feels like to drive one!! Denis, that's so cool! Did you actually attend?? Did I ask you where you got your longarm? It's a huge space & money investment (which hubby doensn't understand or want to hear about) but some day........
Enjoy your class...it sounds wonderful!
Sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy.
haven't heard of it, but wish I had sooner! I just live about an hour down the freeway from Kent :(
To all those long-arm wishers hiding in the background . . . remember what my sister's friend said after she found out we'd purchased a long arm (and she's been quilting for more years than I can count without shoes on):
YOU CAN GET A WHOLE LOT OF QUILTS PROFESSIONALLY DONE FOR $10,000.
I once asked my father why he and my mother didn't get an RV and travel the country. He said you can stay in a heck of a lot of motel rooms for $10,000. Back then, hotel rooms were $20. Never mind, I'd still love to have a long arm and an embroidery machine. I'd take a course from them.
I am jealous....... want to start my own quilting business. Think I would do rather well in this area... good luck and keep us updated..:)
