Don't know what's gotten into me!!!!

I think it must be the weather lately.... i spent the week-end making pickles, cutting out PJ bottoms,
and thinking of Fall! I know it is still August but for some reason i have switched into everything for the upcoming cold season. What is WRONG
with me???? I still have two twin quilts to finish and hear i am getting way ahead of myself! I LOVE summer and having the kids
hear swimming but it hasn't been in the 90's this week and it has thrown me all off. Is it just me or is this happening to you too???LOL

Suzi, our local fair is the long weekend of Sept. and school starts in two weeks. Yes fall is coming too soon.

I live in the dessert, in Las Vegas. I always loved summer but now I hate it because it's just too hot here. You can't do anything outside without nearly passing out from the heat. I don't care about what people say, "It's DRY heat." To me that makes absolutely no difference at all. There are days in the summer when I step outside and I can hardly breath. And getting in the car? Forget it!! Yes, I do have AC in my car but it does take a few minutes to kick in. So if you go anywhere in the middle of the day, you're car is unbearable. Some of the stores are starting to sell their fall clothes, sweaters, long sleeves, turtle necks. No thank you!! It's still 108 degrees here and I can't even imagine putting a sweater or a turtle neck on!

Anyways, that's my whine to now.

I'm in Northern NM and were in the 100's also with promise of rain that never comes!!!! I like fall and spring. Not really ready for winter. Schools just started up again.

Yes, I have been doing my fall nesting, too! (no, I am too old for that pregnancy nesting phase!) The cooler temps this week, along with the advent of school beginning very soon, has gotten me in the mood for one last session of deep cleaning. I think this productive surge is fantastic, but I am exhausted this p.m. from it all....plus the long shopping day yesterday with DD. I hope this winter won't be as extreme as this summer has been for us....but bring on fall with the cooler nights to open windows while sleeping, light sweaters, and yes, even the routine of school!

I know what you mean.. this summers heat has been really great and having so much company has been fun but i think
i am just ready for some structure and cooler nights with the windows open. I am not ready for the cold..just temps so you can get a good nights sleep
without the fan or air blasting!

I love fall - it's my favorite season, all the gorgeous colors, warm days and cool nights. The cooler weather here is beginning to feel like fall. When I get my mom's quilt finished I'm going to start working on some fall things for the house. I'm taking a quilting class on Saturday and the project is a fall quilt.

Well, jimminy crickets - there is even halloween candy out. Labor Day isn't even here yet. I think with all the stuff we see for the upcoming season, it's no wonder our brains get in the mood. As for me, I could use another 2 1/2 months off. Wish I were rich enough to retire. We start back to school on the 28th.

School here started last week and Hobby Lobby is already putting their Christmas Trees out. Its no wonder we are thinking fall. Although here the weather is not no where near fall weather. I believe our heat index today was 112, going outside with this head cold is a real killer.

I have been working on fall stuff too and thinking of Christmas stuff to do too...My thinking on this is because it has been so hot hot hot that I am "wishful thinking" for the cooler days and maybe rain!!! Not realy in the holiday mood... just thinking in advance!!!!! lol

Yes cooler days and hopefully rain blessed rain!!!

It's still hotter than hades here but for some reason it feels like fall is about a mile up the road, don't know why it just feels funny.

Well l for one think the idea of your fall is music to my ears because it means spring is only 2 weeks away. Its been a long very cold winter for Australia. And l cant wait for the long hot lazy days of spring and summer and l'm already starting to plant seeds and seedlings for my vegie garden ...Bring It On !!!!!

I've been thinking Fall, too! School has been in for a week here and the temperatures have dropped below 100 degrees...so it must be Fall! lol My mind has been on getting started on deep cleaning the upstairs bedrooms for my kids who come home for Christmas.

I've been canning pickled jalapeno peppers this week.

I'm in a Fall frame of mind, too! I think it might be that I've been working on Halloween blocks. Two weeks ago while I was at WalMart they were playing Christmas carols to try and cool everyone down - this was during the hottest part of our heatwave! Good try, but my ice cream still melted before I got home with it!

Pam, I know what you mean about the Las Vegas heat. When I moved there in 1969 there was such a thing as dry heat. Now the valley is so over populated and everyone has a pool in their back yard and sprinkler systems, not to mention the man-made lakes everywhere, naturally the humidity has gone up and up. I remember getting into my car and burning my hand on the door handle and then the steering wheel being too hot to handle. It's a real challenge living in that weather. All you can do is dash from one air-conditioned space to the next!! If it hadn't been for the slurpees at 7-Eleven I probably wouldn't have made it through!!

I love Fall. I am so ready for the cooler temps. I just wish Fall didn't mean the cold weather was right around the corner. The schools around here are starting this week (today I think). I am looking forward to the leaves changing.
