My advice to to keep doing research for something affordable because I bought a cheapie jobby at CostCo when I began quilting and while it worked fine and still does, it didn't hold ups to the amount of sewing I did. At least once a year I had it in for repairs that cost 75 - 80 bucks, and then the thread spindle broke off and couldn't be replaced so I saved and bought a Pfaff, not the most expensive one or one with embroidery but I love it's even feed feature. So keep looking. May in Jersey
