Re: I'm finally going to ask
I get confused too - you're not alone. I suppose its because I'm not a 'texter' or used to shortcuts. Could someone enlighten us please?
Re: I'm finally going to ask
Hehe...
D=dear (but darling would be an excellent substitute!)
DH=Dear husband, DD1=Dear Daughter (1st born)
Re: I'm finally going to ask
I use BF for boyfriend since I'm not married.
Pam in Vegas
Re: I'm finally going to ask
On other forums i've seen both Dear and Darling :) And I've seen the occasional HFH too (husband from hell) lol And there's always MIL (mother-in-law) and FIL (father-in-law), FH (future husband), FI (fiancé), and probably a bunch more that my overtired brain can't remember lol
Re: I'm finally going to ask
Ahhh thank you! I understood DD1 as the first but must admit I would think BF as best friend. I guess you can tell the difference when reading full content, and most people refer to their best friend as BFF. I'm so glad that is cleared up and pretty painless too.
Thanks Peachy! :)

I got rid of my HFH and traded him in for a DH, LOL and already knew the others. Your right, there probably are many others.
Thanks!
Re: I'm finally going to ask

Re: I'm finally going to ask
It's hard to remember them all. There's a list floating around with definitions for all the abbreviations. I need to put it on my desktop. Can anyone direct me to that list?

BOB only means that on a quilting forum. Don't assume that is what it means anyplace else you may be online ...

Honestly, I've kinda been waiting for someone to ask what a battery operated boyfriend is.
Re: I'm finally going to ask
Thanks for sharing the list Annika, there were a bunch of quilting-related ones that I never would have guessed.
... But now it's just so tempting to start a post with "Ladies! What a great FART I had today! That was the best SEX I've had in a long time! Now if I can just get rid of the PIGS!" :icon_rofl:
Re: I'm finally going to ask
