The biggest fabric store in the WORLD!
Fabric Depot in Portland advertises itself as the biggest fabric store in the world. I got a chance to go there while in Portland helping my sister with an upholstery project for their new home. We went on the pretense to get some of those WONDER CLIPS (they worked great on heavy upholstery fabric that no pin would go through). When I walked in the door, I thought my heart was going to race out of my chest! They have sooooo much fabric, and as far as I can see, every type of fabric you can imagine. They have dance fabric, bridal fabric, garment fabric, home dec fabric, and of course a HUGE selection of quilt fabrics. For every line of jelly roll that we see on the web, they have the entire collection of yardage to go with it. They have the entire Jinny Beyer palette, and a beautiful quilt made from palette fabrics displayed in their store. I've never seen so many Bali Batiks, I'll bet there was a rack of batiks in every color, at least 50 on each rack. Where do you start?
I got my Wonder clips, a ruler for our projects, a pin catcher (magnetic), and then found in the remnant rack the EXACT 108" fabric I had used for my sister's quilt and pillows! And the exact yardage I had purchased for it, so now I can make more like it! And the best was it was half off! My sis found her bolster pillow fabric, plus the notions to finish the bolsters. I found a couple of wonderful jelly rolls, and they were running a discount on that day, so I got 20% off. (prices still aren't as good as MSQC!) We bought some pillow forms, and thread. We could have spent the entire day and much more money, but we were on a time limit to finish the project we were purchasing materials for! Had to get back to the sewing machine!
So, I'm not going to abandon MSQC for my supplies, but you should check out this website. www.fabricdepot.com it is something to see and experience. They do web orders, so if you can't find it anywhere else, you might try here.
