    Default Do you get . . .

The Quilter's Club of America newsletter? Today's issue has the neatest idea. Anyone know how we could turn this into a swap or some type of exchange?

    Hello QCA Quilters,

This cute mini quilt got me thinking about quilting for the seasons or for regional attractions. Have you ever thought of creating your own mini quilts to showcase the sites in your neck-of-the-woods? I can see them now, The Gateway Arch of St. Louis, Mt. Rushmore, The Statue of Liberty, The Eiffel Tower. It would also be fun to make mini blocks of the places you have visited and turn them into a vacation quilt. Just a little bit of creativity goes a long way. Have fun thinking about your mini quilt and stay cool!

I'll probably get in trouble for posting this and copying from their newsletter . . . Reminds me of the Renter's Quilt . . .

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Swap?????? Would you like to make 30 Mt. Rushmores? Or 30 Gateway Arches? It would be a cool quilt, but sounds a little overwhelming for a swap.

Why don't you do a star quilt block swap, and have people make the stars named after their state? We in Missouri have the biggest challenge, because our star is a bugger!

Love the little quilt with the coverd brigde........Bridges of Madison County..........

Sounds like a great idea to make a vacantion quilt, doing states is also fun, but we don't have states in the Netherlands.....

I will keep an eye open for the follow up on this post Sandy, might be interesting to see where this goes, if it is something I can relate to I might be in on another swap........

That is a beautiful block. Reminds me of the covered bridge near where I use to live in Upstate New York.

I could do a quilt of all the places I have been. DH and I have been to almost every state and we were both born in Indiana so that one would be easy......a field of corn! LOL
Sure does give me an idea for a large quilt.

I thought it to be a great idea, too.

Just a suggestion for anyone.. everyone make a block of their favorite spot from their state. Throw it in the pile and have a drawing for the whole lot. UP SIDE_only one block to make. DOWN SIDE- only one winner. I just can't mass produce something from Illinois (ABE LINCOLN) but could make Just ONE .

Or do a list of enrolled members. everyone do a block and send it to the next person on the list under their name. That way everyone gets a NEW block.. But it is only ONE block.

Start a round robin. everyone makes a block, sends it to the next person on the "list". That person adds a block and sends it on till all the blocks make the rounds to each person and back to the original sender.

Well, whatcha think? any of the above sound doable??

I LOVE the idea of a Round Robin - wouldn't that be a great way to get a quilt together for our MENTORS here (hint: Last name starts with a D and we often refer to them as M*QC)

what a Great idea Sandy! I love this kind of stuff that means something. Coincidentally, I was thinking about doing a state quilt when I get done with the project I am on with state birds, flowers, etc. Your idea is great for a swap to have everyone do a block representing their state or country. Imagine what our world looks like in a quilt. Nice going Sand...love love love it

I can't participate due to time constraints -booooooo(I work full time) but I would love to see how this goes
It's all about the journey ...not the destination.......
    So.....Quilt it down.........
