    Default It's decided

In December, I was given a 25 year old, barely used Singer. I've been so grateful to have it! And it has served me well. As long as I'm not doing anything complicated. However, as I do more and more sewing and quilting, it's becoming more quirky. To the point that, tonight, my quilting is at a standstill. Each time I stop to rewind the bobbin, the tension gets messed up. I have no idea why, because winding a bobbin has NOTHING to do with the tension! Since the last time I put in a fresh bobbin, it's not picking up the thread consistently. So I talked to the DH and he agreed that I should get a new machine. Tomorrow, I'll be heading over to the fabric store where they have a lovely Brother for $159, and asking if I can put it on lay-away. Until then, I guess I'm dead in the water.
If you can't see it from 50 yards away on a galloping horse, it doesn't matter.

I know how you feel. My old faithful was acting up, and I just had to buy a new machine. I love my new girl. Not expensive, but serves it's purpose. It is a singer that I got at WM for less than $200, and has much bigger throat than the Brother I was looking at. Good luck with your new purchase and hopefully they will let you put it on lay away.

Yes, hope they let you put it on lay-away. No fun to be without a machine, been there when my Lily's timing went out and being new to the Island not knowing where to go to have it fix. I too ended up buying a Singer as an interim machine 'till I bought my Isodore by Brother.

    Good luck!
