Today's Note to Self

I often do notes to myself in my head. I am hand quilting today, so today's note to self was: Either quit putting the needle in your mouth when pulling out more thread from the spool, or don't sneeze. Pick one.

The sneeze was unexpected, but fortunately I was able to find the needle once I blew it out of my mouth. Unlike the two needles I lost last week. No one wants to sit in my seat on the couch because of those two. (They haven't figure out my plot to take over the couch yet.)

Back to stitching.

LOL! I know I have at least one somewhere in - under - around my couch somewhere! : )

Too funny....

I was cleaning the other day and found a couple I didn't even know I had lost!!

How funny! My mother told me not to cut thread with my teeth, after 60 years of not listening to her, my tooth chipped. Today I had the damage repaired, and reminded by the dentist NOT TO CUT THREAD with my teeth!

I'm back because this has bothered me - I am sure thankful that needle wasn't inhaled. Oh, the images in my mind.

I need to hunt around for "lost" pins each time the cats come visiting. They both like to pull them out of my "cushion".. Warning. Don't go bare foot when you enter the sewing area/s.

That was my thoughts too because before I sneeze I always seem to take a deep breath.

Yes I was thankful I didn't inhale. I know it is a bad habit, but my mother always had pins and needles in her mouth when she sewed, so I just followed in her footsteps.

If I don't have a thread in those darn size 10 needles I can't find them to thread, so I hold them in my mouth.

Youngest son learned the hard way about walking around when I have lost a needle.

My sewing area is part of my living room, even though I have an extra bedroom. I don't have cable tv or such and I have one tv hooked to an antenna in my living room. Since I am alone 75% of the time, I like to have the television on to keep me company, therefore the living room can be a mine field of pins and needles.

Glad you didn't inhale that needle, too! One time I was startled while I had a mouth full of pins and did inhale......luckily the pins didn't get swallowed! I always have my sewing machine facing into the room now........don't want anyone sneaking up on me again.

When re threading my needle I always put the needle in my sweatpant or jeans leg, whichever I'm wearing. I learned a long time ago not to put it in my mouth...:o

OH MY I know the feeling very well....pin or needle in the foot or....stuck in the lip!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!

Lol you picked the wrong time to sneeze. Looks like you need a big magnet.

I don't hand quilt, but I do tack down the binding by hand. I load my needles and stick them in the arm rest of the chair, but sometimes they are hard to see. Maybe you need one of those magnetic wands to sweep over your couch?

I was sitting out on the deck bottom step last week and had a needle in my mouth while rethreading. Yep, opened my yak-hole and dropped my needle in the grass. I couldn't find it where it dropped in the grass. Since I'm always barefoot, I'm sure I'll find it one of these days...

I have stepped on pins or needles before and the words that came out of my mouth were not good! :icon_tape:

Genny: sticking the needle in your pant's leg is a good idea.......unless your wearing shorts! LOL

My husband freaks when I say "I just dropped my needle did you see were it went?" Being we go barefoot in the house in the summer and no shoes in the house in the winter he just knows that he will be the one to find it...in the bottom of his foot!

I can't break myself from putting needles in my mouth and the rugs in our home are like a mine field. Fortunately I'm the one who gets stuck in the foot most often. Have a good day quilting...are you working on your ultra bright quilt? I so love that quilt!!

Good think I quilt in a room that is outside the house because I'm always dropping pins and needles too. No one goes barefoot in that room LOL
