Suzi,
Talk to us about your KenQuilt machine. I took a look at their site since I'm not famiiar with them. How did you decide on this brand? Are you happy with it? It sounds like a great deal, and says it includes the frame as well. How large of a quilt can you put on the frame and still cover 6.5" throughout? The long-arm machines are out of my price-range but this mid-arm might be doable. There's such a huge difference moving to a long-arm to get the extra harp length! I don't understand why.

Re: Anybody here own a KenQuilt 622 ?
Rebecca,
Suzi has the frame only. I bought mine on e-bay several years ago and really have never messed with it til about a week ago. I would just "practice"with it off and on all these times.Never practicing enough to say I really had it down. I never got good enough to actually put a decent quilt on it and trust myself. It came with a 12 foot table and the machine head is HEAVY..It is older (much older) but is a work horse. I bit the bullet and put a quilt on it last week. It was rough in some spots but I actually thought it looked half way decent.I put a full on it a couple days ago and started out yesterday doing perfect until 3/4 the way through it started having major tension issues.I changed everything, bobbin, tension, thread even the needle and she is being a real B----.I have wasted more thread yesterday than I think I have ever put through it.I was hoping I could find someone on here that has one and we could compare notes. There is a picture of it in my album "my sewing room" It is a good machine but is really cantankerous this week. It can hold a huge quilt. I just wish I could figure it out. Oh yea NO STITCH REGULATOR!!!!I don't think the new ones have it either. It takes tons of practice I tell ya.

Glad you are practicing and figuring it out, but sorry that you have had tension issues. Sorry I can't help you....but just wanted to tell you that I am so proud of you that you finally jumped in. When I know the water is fine......I might join you!

My mom has one. Not sure model number. She was having the same issues. She took it in to get serviced. She said, that one of the problems was, that the thread hoop coming off the spool should be directly over the spool, so that it comes straight up. After the good cleaning it is running very smooth. I used it a few years ago. Yes it was heavy, no stitch regulator. Quilted nicely though. She lives in ca while I live in al.
