When recently researching the height of cutting tables, I came across info that might help you, too. The height of the sewing surface should be 9 " above the seat of your chair. Your chair should be positioned in height that your feet touch the floor with knees bent at 90 degrees.....then measure up from that level. Another site said to sit with arms bent at 90 degrees and measure to the floor....then add 5 1/2 to 7 " to that measurement. They were stating that your arms should be slightly upward toward your machine.......not straight out at elbow height. I hope this helps. I know it makes a huge difference to have equipment that is ergo dynamic.......less stress and strain on the body and thus less aches and pains. The total height of sewing tables varies between 28 and 36 inches....based on your height, arm length, etc.
