    Default Masculine Dresden Quilt

I just loaded a NEW ALBUM with what I call my "Masculine Dresden" quilt photos. This quilt has no absolute pattern, but I think resulted in a really awesome quilt for a special guy. I loved the idea of the black/white Dresden swap we did as a group about a year ago, so with added fabric and some left overs, I made a BOW TIE quilt for my daughter. Then, I took left overs blades from that idea and "threw" them on 10" blocks of black swirl fabric, making them look like men's ties strewn randomly. Then, I added square in a square blocks for the color I wanted, and once assembled, "threw" more blades down across seams and as fillers. I also made the length 2 extra rows longer so that my tall SIL would enjoy his own quilted throw in their black & white LR. I hand quilted swirls in random, which look awesome on the backing, too. More photos showing the hand stitching and binding later, because I must get to the sewing machine to add the splash of color fabric for the binding. I really want to take BOTH quilts to TN with me when I visit my new grand daughter in August!
