Too much fabric? No such thing!
I got a package from M* today and one from Jo-Ann's, so the box that I keep all my fabric that hasn't been used, and some of my templates in is busting at the seams. Looks like I need some more storage. A little over a month into quilting and there is no going back for me!
Hi, my name is Rachel and I'm addicted to fabric, (and M*QC) haha

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Hi Rachel......too funny! It's almost as if we are our own support group or maybe we are "enablers".....you know letting the forum know about EVERY sale or bargain we find! Oh well, we can tell ourselves that quilting is good for us mentally! It keeps our brains strong and working with all that quilt math and project planning! Have fun with your new goodies!

Hahahaha! The box. THE box.
No worries grasshopper, you have ventured to the dark side. Soon it will be boxes, then many boxes, then closets, then rooms, then you will make people move out of your house to have more storage space.
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome Rachel! I guess you've figured out by now that you've joined a group of addicts and we're all enablers. BTW, "the box" will multiply like rabbits.

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Welcome from Pennsylvania and yes I am an addict, too!!! After my order from M*QC last Saturday, I vowed to not buy any more fabric for a while...like next week when my husband and I go to Berlin, Ohio and all the quilt shops there...
IT IS DEFINITELY AN ADDICTION
You are in great company with all the fabiholics on this forum!!! We love it!!!

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Oh Karen, that is to funny. Every time I think my stash is getting smaller, it just magically appears to grow again. Upstairs, downstairs, all around the house. That is the world of a quiltaholic. Thankfully for this addiction you don't nee an intervention.

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
I too am a Fabraholic......
Just started out with a small corner in the closet ( I have a walk in closet off the bedroom that is still set up with an extra sewing machine) and a tote that fit neatly under the sewing stand. Then one day..... something snapped.... I found all kinds of web sites with so many patterns and pictures.... I went to yard sales that had totes of material that just begged to come home with me. Every time I walked into a store that had a fabric section..... somewhere in the bolts of material was a magnet that just sucked me in..... SALES SALES SALES. I now have a room with shelves .... and yes still the totes.... that hold my treasures.
I feel my addiction is getting better..... as I now find I don't need to leave the house to purchase fabric....... I buy my pre-cuts from MSQC.....
See what is in store for you....... we welcome you ......... enjoy!:)

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Enablers is the right word I think :)
Right now I am a college student and still living at home so I am kind of limited on space, but my boyfriend already knows that when I move out I will have my own room!

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
According to my other half I have enough fabric to open my own little store....not happening...I love every piece but I swear when I am not looking they have babies...know what I mean and my scrap bin is overflowing again...thought I had cut that one down to size! See...I am telling you...when you are sleeping they are having babies!

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Leonie, that happened to me the other day. I saw a package on the front porch and thought I don't remember ordering anything that would be here today, and not in a box that big. Then I looked and it was to my dad, haha. So now any time a package comes my family and I just automatically think it is for me.

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Before I started quilting just two years ago, I couldn't understand quilters and their "stash" and now it's "What's not to understand". I get excited just thinking about going to to a quilt shop and what I might find there.

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Karen is so right. I think my fabric breeds in my closet. I now have enough to sort by colors!

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Wow I hear you on being a fabric addict. I have challenged my self to get at LEAST 2 more quilts done before I can purchase more. Knowing I could probably make 15 quilts with what I have I think this is a fair and reasonable goal.....now will I be able to keep it? :)

Re: Too much fabric? No such thing!
Welcome Rachel! It is rather amazing how quickly you can build up a stash. I'm less than a year in, and already need a bigger room... or maybe I need to actually finish one of the 12 projects I'm working on. Either way, welcome to the addiction, and please share any finished projects you do, never know where your inspiration will come from!
