Default Ladies and Gentlemen...I need help!

I watched the 5 minute block video on utube and thought...this is simple...ok...then why is my lavender piece 1/4 in shorter in the front of this block? My blocks are all the same size, I sew them together exactually as the video, but when I open the lavender piece at the bottom its about 1/4 inch too short. Any help on this will be appreciated.

Knowing nothing about making the 5-Minute block, it could be that your purple fabric moved while you were stitching it. I think it has to be pinned pretty well. Did you try making another block and if so, what was the result?

My geometry skills have disappeared (evaporated due to lack of moisture) but I do believe that there is no way to totally control this. If all three pieces are squares and the same size then it will always be off.

Am I rustier than I think? I'm going to try it and see if that theory works. Used some paper and sure enough - it will not match perfectly . . . anyone else have better (fresher) math skills? BION I used to be a math major . . . DUH . . . over 50 years ago, that is.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Mine match ok now...I cut some off the bottom after they were sewn together and it made a perfect square...so I guess whatever works...
