SUNDAY GREETINGS
Good Morning Everyone,
Can you believe it's the first day of July!! DH and I have to work out of town again today and it's supposed to be hotter than a skillet.
We haven't had rain or even a cloud in the sky for so long. As a result, the bugs that we normally don't see much of (spiders, wasps and especially ants) are coming out in droves looking for water. We are having a real problem with this at our apartments. DH and I live in the woods and the critters coming around for water are downright scary...we killed four tarantulas yesterday nearly as big as the palm of my hand! I have killed several Daddy Longlegs in our house. For those who don't know what these are, they are a spider with a round body and extremely long legs...sometime 3 inches long all around the body. Please pray we get some rain.
HAPPY CANADA DAY to our our quilty sisters/brothers up north!!
I have to post and run, as we are ready to hit the road. I wish you all a wonderful Sunday. Stay safe and keep cool....Hugs, Barb

Re: SUNDAY GREETINGS
Good Morning to you Barb. Watch out for all those creepy crawlies. We haven't seen any Tarantulas but have had a lot of other types of spiders. DH even spotted a Black Widow out in the weeds not to long ago. EEK!
Sure wish we could get a break from this heat. I need to do some laundry but hate the thought of having to stand outside to hang the clothes on the line. But I guess I need to do it!
DH has a regular doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I will go along this time and then we can run to the store and I can get me some Color Catchers.
Stay cool.
Donna

Re: SUNDAY GREETINGS
Good morning. It's going to be another scorcher here today too. I've noticed more creepy crawlies and DH got a wasp sting on the hand last night. I did two loads of laundry early this morning. I don't have a clothesline and my washer and dryer are in the kitchen, so I'm trying to run the dryer early to hold down the heat.
Happy July 1!

Barb, I hope you don't melt in the heat. Have a wonderful day. There is quite a lovely breeze here today. It will be a beautiful day for Canada Day.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Re: SUNDAY GREETINGS
Good Sunday to all! We had a horrible storm go through late Friday afternoon and most of our county and surrounding counties are without power. I was driving home from work and barely made it as our main road was almost completely blocked by downed trees in 4 spots. We are so thankful we got our power back late last night. 30 hours without power in the country, which also means no running water, is rough and my prayers go out to all who are still without. DH and I spent yesterday cleaning up the yard, we lost 2 big limbs but could only get 1 of them down and tons of debris, but no structural damage can be seen. We are so thankful it wasn't worse. I got some crochet UFO's done during the outage, more Breast Cancer Ribbons to donate at work and finished a set of potholders too. I found another potholder I had started, and realized why I hadn't finished it, it is quite wonky and I will probably rip it out and start over, but I started it's mate in the meantime. I am replacing all of my store bought potholders with these crochet versions, they are so much better, even DH prefers them. Well, back to catching up on all of the chores, and we have discovered a stray (feral?) cat in our garage that just doesn't want to leave so we are trying to find it's hiding place. DH has a 'lean-to' of lumber out there and I think that's where it's hiding, so we have to move all of that and see. I am hoping for at least a bit of sewing this afternoon/evening!
Blessings to all!

Re: SUNDAY GREETINGS
I do understand about the lack of rain. Our yard has large cracks in parts of it and we were just joking yesterday that we'd have to watch out that our little great grandaughter doesn't fall in it...lol... I've been keeping our tomatoes and all our flowers watered really well and do hate the thought of getting our next water bill.
I'm telling you...if I see a tarantula in our house...I'm moving out! I'm scared to death of spiders!!! I do know what Daddy Longlegs are...we often see them around here, seen one yesterday. Hate them things too!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY...TO HAVE A GOOD DAY...Genny

Donna, as warm as it is you can just step out the back door and wave the clothes around for a second or two and it will save you having to pin then on the line . . . just saying . . .
Be warned. I am BORED.
This could be dangerous.
When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
They are usually 90 degrees.
A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Re: SUNDAY GREETINGS
Genny, you are funny. My granddaughters thought they may fall through to China if the cracks got any bigger.
Can't believe the time. Things are keeping me from sewing and I'm all confused. Al just asked me if it was Sunday. He's confused, too.
I'm heading to grab a bite to eat and then make another (hopefully my last) quilted Owl Purse for one of the granddaughters. THIS WILL BE #6. Wait until Agnes starts talking well. She'll probably want one, too. Funny about her. I was over yesterday to pick up one of the girls and Agnes saw me coming through the front window and started yelling "Nana, Nana, Nana!!" Love that kid!!

Yeah, this heat is oppressing. Scary thing about the critters looking for water. I would have a coronary if I saw a tarantula. I don not like spiders of any kind, and the bigger they are the less I like them. Stay safe from the heat. Donna, have to agree with Sandy. It wouldn't take much to dry them.

You mentioned once that no one wanted a penguin purse - I'll take one! Morgan is my little penguin, Sierra is my giraffe, Ashlea is my elephant and Stetson is my little monkey boy! Oh. and Morgan's b-day is 4th of July!!! Ha Ha, I am sooo funny!!!
Donna, besides Canada Day what do we celebrate today?
