    Default Connecting Threads

I know this has been asked before but I need all opinions, good or bad. I'm having trouble using Coats and Clark thread on my Janome Horizon 7700 because of the little cut out notches on the thread spool catching the thread as its unwinding. I am considering purchasing thread from Connecting Threads. Please tell me all the pros and cons on this thread before I make a sizable investment. I appreciate all your comments. Thanks in advance...Genny

Are you sure you have it on your machine correctly, because i have never had that problem, because the notch is going the opposite way.

Yes, I actually talked to my Janome Dealer today. Not only does the C&C thread have the cut out Notches on their spools but the edges are rough too which will also sometimes catch the thread. I've actually had my spools on both ways and it still happens sometimes.

I use Connecting Threads thread for almost everything. I don't have any issues with it. Some people seem to have fuzz issues with it, but I don't get any more fuzz from it than other thread.

I use Coats and Clark thread almost exclusively. I don't have any old spools, most have been bought in the last year or so. None of my spools have that little notch in them. Mine have the top that pops up that you wrap your thread around and then close it back up to keep it from unraveling. But in answer to your question about Connecting Threads - I personally haven't used them but have heard lots of Kudos from other quilters.

Haha! OMG, I never knew those popped up like that! I have some C&C hand quilting thread on spools like that, had it several years and never knew ...

LOL, I didn't know they popped up either! Thanks for the info. I have a Janome 6600 and don't have any thread problems with C&C.

I discovered that they did by accident. That is what I use.

Both my Janome Memory Craft 6500 and my Elna 740 both refuse to sew nice with Coats and Clark thread...I can use it in the bobbin but not in the top....I have been using Superior So Fine #50 and that works very well in my machines without a lot of fuzz....hope this helps!
