    CT,, thread is great... Superior even better....I don't go in for a lot of colors... just get big spools of basic.. and i LOVE using a threadstand... all the time....

    LOL, I didn't know the top popped up either..

    On my old Pfaff, they have several size discs that hold the thread spool on the spindle......so I use the larger disc and the thread has to go over the disc and not near the edge of spool.....hope that makes sense.

    I have a Janome and Coats & Clarks does the same thing on it. I have ordered thread from Connecting Threads many times and have had no problem with it. I wait until it goes on sale. As Barbara already stated, having only just the basic colors works many times....especially the creams or off whites, but their other color choices are real pretty. (they remind me of sherbert, candy....anything delicious!)
