So true! I've been holed up in my nice cool basement sewing room, so my corn isn't popped yet!
Even the dogs are hot...
YUP!!!! :icon_cool:
We have a fire in the Mark Twain National Forest one county over from us, about 20 miles east. Myrna, love your picture...I'm definitely Mrs Popcorn! :)
The fires are so very scarey. Hope they can get it under control and out. The whole country is burning up.
I don't know about anyone else's 4th of July plans but most of the firework displays around here have already been cancelled because of the dry/tinderbox conditions. Bubby I heard that on the news up here and that the Governor has put all firefighters and national guard on high alert to go anywhere at anytime. prayers are with everyone who is fighting fires. kellie
Love all these pictures - Thanks for making me laugh!!!!
The fires here in Colorado are horrible - just heard that one of my best friend's uncle's home burned completely - so tragic - please keep prayers coming -
Love the pictures, it is cold and wet here, we have seen the fires in Colorado on TV here so tragic.
Thats how our summer was last 4th of July in the southwest of oklahoma, near texas. Last years heat wave over a month and a half of 100+ degree weather was awful. Hope its not like that again this year, but so far we have had our 1st week straight of 100+ again. At least there are a few options on t.v. to watch the fireworks. I did that with my son last year since my husband was out in the field during the 4th of July (active army) and we couldnt see local fireworks cause of the burn ban anyways.
In Vegas, every summer is hot and dry. This one is no exception. But sometimes it's so dry you can hardly breath! How I am praying for thunder storms!! I spent 11 yrs in Alabama and I loved the humidity there!! It's just too freaking dry here!

Love these pictures! Where does everyone find these crazy pictures??
Sorry about the fires - it must be so scary. We're having our coldest wettest winter for many years. (Our first in Australia and not quite what we were expecting)
I love the pictures!
Barb, I have wondered about wildfires here in Missouri since I moved here, but this is the first one I have heard about. We live with trees all around us and close to a couple sections of the Mark Twain National Forest. I hope they get the fire put out quickly.
My thoughts and prayers are also with the people in Colorado who are battling the fires there. And those who have lost their homes. I heard that there has been 1 death also.
The wild fires are terrible and I pray for those who may be in harm's way. Our house caught on fire several years ago when I was home alone. There was minor damage but it nearly scared me to death.
There's a burn ban in effect here too, but as of yesterday, fireworks were still allowed "with adult supervision". DUH!..It's mostly adults who'll be shooting them off around here. I can stand on my porch and watch the big ones go off at the lake.
