I layed out to my girls yesterday, "Want to do something for Rich's birthday?" and nobody bit on that, including the one with the patio, great grill and lovely swimming pool, so I guess it will be up to me to get things going and invite them over here. I'd rather be quilting, but cleaning does have to be done at some point in time.
Oh, Jean - too much time in the sun? Here's the simple solution to your avoidance issues. Run to Wal-Mart, pick up a cake and go 'SURPRISE' at your brother's place. That way you don't have to clean or even pick up when it is time to go home. And, since no one 'bit' on your bait yesterday, don't even invite them . . .

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

It will be a hot one here too, but no snow so that means I can get out to get dog food.
Katie smiled and giggled yesterday for the 1st time in a week, yes, life is good! She ate something more than jelloy stuff so that means her throat is getting better.

Today I have a huge pile of wintery stuff on the sofa needing to be gone through. DH was given a whole house fan last fall as payment for him helping to do stuff at his Aunt's home. With not enough rain here the past week or so, the lawns that were due to be mowed yesterday were not growing so he stayed home. I suggested that with the heat outside, it would be a good day to put in the fan. It took him 4 hours, but it's in and running! I hope to see another drop in the electric bill from that working. So, all that stuff on the sofa came out of a closet area that he had to clear out to get into the attic.

Other than that, I plan on staying inside to hopefully work on some applique. Super hot days are always good for sewing.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Guess I got up feeling feisty today - hope that feeling lasts. I did get another owl purse finished yesterday and another one started (even with some major interruptions). Emily begged to come over and 'sew' with Nana. She wanted to learn to embroider tea towels (so we had to find out why they were called 'tea' towels). Then the embroidery patterns I had weren't quite suitable for her little mind, so it was off to find some more appropriate (she chose "Death by Chocolate") . . . Emily also wants an owl purse (as does Michelle) - forget that I spent $$ to get patterns for both kittens and penguins. So I did start one for Emily but hunger overtook us and we decided to eat. Phone call during dinner that the rest of the kids were coming to jump in the pool. Two hours later I'm wiped out and sure not going back to sew.

I'm reading notes about the cold weather down under, the hot weather up here, lack of rain, dry yards, too much snow, too much wind . . . guess that's life.

To those who need special guidance, I pray. I pray for those with health issues - the serious ones, the ones with concerns, and those who don't feel up to par. My friends with many projects scheduled, I pray for time and pleasure. For those who have family with needs, I pray. Those who need a shoulder? Mine are broad. My arms are long. For those without work, I pray something opens up. For those on vacation - enjoy every second. And for all others, laugh and make the very best of what life deals out. Every second is worth the memory.
    Be warned. I am BORED.

My goodness everyone is so busy already this morning. Myself I am just sitting here in a veggie state. Will be going to a bar-b-que later today and spend time with my two favorite boys 4 and 7.

Spent some time at the vets yesterday. Sammy got stung by a bee and had a reaction so had to go get shots. Never new a dog could be allergic to bee stings!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and hugs and prayers to all.

Good morning to you all! Wow, there's lots going on for everyone. Me, I just finished what house cleaning I planned to do and now can spend the day doing what I want--sewing of course! The house is partway torn up; we're installing hardwood flooring in our living room. What a mess it is to tear out the carpeting. It always amazes me how messy construction workers leave a floor. So much dirt! Oh well, I'll have my new floors in real soon now.

We're supposed to get into the 90's today, but so far my temperature gauge says 60. I'll take it over the 90's for sure. I wonder if the weather man got it wrong???
When life throws you scraps, make a quilt!

    Good Afternoon Ladies,

Sounds as if everyone has great plans for the week ahead. Myself I am taking tomorrow off as I normally work six days a week. We are planning to take a good friend of ours and head into New Orleans for the day tomorrow. Or for as long as we can handle the heat. We are going to go to the aquarium and then maybe a bar or two on Bourbon St. That is if DH can handle it. If not then we will head home after the aquarium. Will have the 4th off the only plans will to be walk over to Mom and Dads in the evening. My mother is going to fix pulled pork and I will fix pulled beef throw together a potato salad and that will be about it. But it is a day off so it will be a day of rest for us.

Enjoy your day stay cool and dry if you can.

Hot is an understatement. Hit 108 here yesterday. Yes, I know it is early afternoon, but hey watched the kids til 30 AM. Hoping to work on putting my disaster quilt back together today. Donna, mitered corners are so easy to do you will never understand why you didn't do them before. Jean, a day in the basement quilting sounds like heaven. Shirley, I would kill for 80 degrees right now. Barb don't over do with the apartments this weekend. Prayers for all that need them, and peace, blessings, and fabric fun to all.
