Another option for preventing any bleeding from dyes is RETAYNE. Add that to your wash and you should be safe.

Should you have some bleeding after you wash a quilt, then you would use SYNTHROPOL with a few colour catchers for added power.

I NEVER wash quilts for first time without color catchers. They have saved many a quilt that would otherwise have been ruined. Oh yes, I do love your quilt. The colors are very eye appealing.

Your quilt looks great! I need to look for color catchers next time I'm at Walmart.

Nice quilt...I just used color catchers on a black, dark blue, light blue quilt. Although I had prewashed all the fabric, the color catcher came out a nice shade of gray. I have a box to use for quilts..I would hate to get to the final stage of quilting and have all the hard work destroyed just by washing. I am under the assumption that you don't have to use them each time you wash the quilt, right?

I love the color catchers and your quilt! I used them for a summer in the park quilt with a white background. The other colors were so bright I didn't want to take any chances that they would bleed on the white. Thankfully ...the color catchers did their job well. No bleeding on the white. We love color catchers.....

Love your quilt! I have never used color catchers in my 20+ years of quilting, but am giving some thought to hunting them down. I do tend to prewash everything which should take care of any bleeding. But now that I'm starting to use some precuts, those color catchers would be a good idea.
