    Default Keeping cool with kids

Hi, it's Thursday, and it is grandma's day to keep the grandkids. But it is going to be 108 here in St. Louis, so I rule out playing outside, since I have not one tree in my neighborhood that would give meaningful shade. So, I've downloaded Hillary's cute flag project, got all the materials ( except we have to use purchased sticks, since we have no trees to give up their branches for us!) I am going to let the kids use their little sewing machines instead of hand sewing, but hopefully they will turn out cute. If this doesn't fly, we have cupcakes to bake, and if all else fails, there is the iPad to play games on. Later this afternoon, we are going swimming in Aunt Michele's pool, where we can retreat to the house if it gets too beastly hot to stay outside. Feel like I'm the summer camp counselor, like I was when I was MUCH younger!

It's supposed to be at least 100 here today, so I will be staying inside as much as possible. Have fun with the grandkids

That is way too hot, it is a very cool 14 degrees today here but that is centigrade which is too cold, roll on spring. Have fun with your grand children sounds like you are pretty well organized.
Remember, people will see your quilts long after you are gone. . . Not your housework!!

It will be 30 today and 31 tomorrow. That translates to 86F. That is hot for us, but I will take it. Have fun Jean.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

You're sending that heat our way and we don't want it! In the 90's this weekend is what they say. It is too hot to be outside with kids except in the very early morning. I'm going out to buy a sprinkler - remember how much fun it was to run through one of those when we were kids?

It's going to be a hot one here too, around 98 degrees and a heat index of 107. I've already watered our tomatoes and all the flowers. Also filled the birdbaths with fresh water. Just got off work at 7 and I'm getting ready to take a nap. Hope you all have a great day, stay cool!

We may reach 70 today which is fine by me! Living in the foothills of Mt Rainier gives us a good breeze even if the temp tops 90, which won't happen for at least a month or more.

It is suppose to be in the 100s down here in southern Missouri today also. It seems like we are always hotter than what the Springfield weatherman says it's suppose to be. Yesterday they were saying high 90s and we had 104* on our thermometer. It is already 89* out there.
Today is going to be movie day! I may through my flannel in the washing machine and get it on the line so I can get my baby quilts finished. Other than that.. I won't be doing much moving around.
