Re: Keeping cool with kids
It's supposed to be at least 100 here today, so I will be staying inside as much as possible. Have fun with the grandkids :)
Re: Keeping cool with kids
That is way too hot, it is a very cool 14 degrees today here but that is centigrade which is too cold, roll on spring. Have fun with your grand children sounds like you are pretty well organized.
Re: Keeping cool with kids
It will be 30 today and 31 tomorrow. That translates to 86F. That is hot for us, but I will take it. Have fun Jean.
Re: Keeping cool with kids
You're sending that heat our way and we don't want it! In the 90's this weekend is what they say. It is too hot to be outside with kids except in the very early morning. I'm going out to buy a sprinkler - remember how much fun it was to run through one of those when we were kids?
Re: Keeping cool with kids
It's going to be a hot one here too, around 98 degrees and a heat index of 107. I've already watered our tomatoes and all the flowers. Also filled the birdbaths with fresh water. Just got off work at 7 and I'm getting ready to take a nap. Hope you all have a great day, stay cool!
Re: Keeping cool with kids
We may reach 70 today which is fine by me! Living in the foothills of Mt Rainier gives us a good breeze even if the temp tops 90, which won't happen for at least a month or more.
Re: Keeping cool with kids
It is suppose to be in the 100s down here in southern Missouri today also. It seems like we are always hotter than what the Springfield weatherman says it's suppose to be. Yesterday they were saying high 90s and we had 104* on our thermometer. It is already 89* out there.
Today is going to be movie day! I may through my flannel in the washing machine and get it on the line so I can get my baby quilts finished. Other than that.. I won't be doing much moving around.
Re: Keeping cool with kids
The temp is only supposed to be 90 here today...nice summer day...not too humid yet...
Have a great day with your grandsons Jean---I'm babysitting 2 of mine today also!!
Re: Keeping cool with kids
Found this great site - Skip To My Lou - and they have super craft type projects for kids!

Re: Keeping cool with kids
The granddaughter rejected this project because it looked messy! She didn't get the "reproduction" look, and thought it was beneath her to work on something that looked crumpled and messy. Besides it isn't pink and purple. The grandson took a stab at it, but sewing those strips on straight wasn't working for him. I cheated and did 3 of them on the sewing machine.
Re: Keeping cool with kids
Sounds like you have quite a game plan, and everything under control. Word of warning tho, don't make it to much fun, or they will want to be there every day. How many more weeks til school starts up again? I am sitting with mine late tonight while DD and friends go to midnight viewing of Magic Mike. She has taken it easy on mom since my little episode last week end.

The little fishies swam for hours, and grandma too, and it felt so good. With a private pool surrounded by a high privacy fence, the swim suit issue isn't so bad. It's when you have to go in real public that it gets scary! Or in front of a full length mirror! But my mom had a philosophy about that. She said there would always be someone older or fatter than her at the public pool, so she took comfort in that. I very seldom see any " beach bods" at the public pool, just many people with swim attire that doesn't cover the issue, and makes you think, "what were they thinking?"

Glad you had a good time!!!
