Hello again, I'm needing to buy new scissors...a regular size pair and a small pair. Mine are wearing out. I want something light weight. Does anyone have a favorite kind that they would recommend? Thanks for your help.

I don't know about big scissors, because I have a pair I love that is a "no name" but is fabulous. I purchased it at a pattern making event about 5 years ago, and it is still the most wonderful pair I've ever owned. As far as little scissors, I love the Gingher embroidery scissors with the VERY POINTY ends. They cost around $25, you can get the cost down if you use a coupon. I purchase a pair about every 2 years, just to treat myself. I use these to rip, rip, rip, don't like using seam rippers except in certain cases.
I'm like Jean - I'm a Gingher lover. Nothing better in my book. However, I probably have about 30 pair of scissors all around the house - seem to have a weakness for anything . . . including sharp pointy objects.
Be warned. I am BORED.
This could be dangerous.
When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
They are usually 90 degrees.
A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
I buy Gingher nippers. I bought my first pair when I worked for Levi Strauss. Not sure what ever happened to them.
My scissors are a pair of higher end Fiskars. They fit my hand well (large hands.)

I have a pair of Singer scissors that I really like. I've been looking at the Ginghers - so I'll probably get a pair of those too.

I work to support a sewing habit that I don't have time for, because I work!
I have two pairs of Singer scizzors, large and medium that are about 35 years old and I recently had them sharpened and what fabulous sizzors they are.

I got a set at Hancocks not too long ago but the the big ones are too heavy for my liking so when I need to use a full size I find myself reaching for the cheap pair I got at Wal-Mart - lightweight and sharp!
Good one Shirley!

My favorites are a pair of Westcott titanium. Light weight, sharp and they fit my little hands well. Nothing gets cut with them but fabric.

Uuummhhh...Sandy, I had to laugh when I saw your response........add an evil laugh with the "sharp pointy object" remark and you have yourself a scary moment!!
Thanks to all for the info. That should help me narrow down the choices. The scissors will be on sale for 40 percent off at Hancock's starting tomorrow. Guess I'd better get some!
