Had to share my new garage sale bargain. I paid 25 cents for this whole pile of fabric this morning! The white has about 4 1/2 yds & the black & white print had 3 1/2. The other prints are various size scrap pieces! Too happy!!

I need to get out more often! Missed a quilter's estate sale less than 1/2 hour from here (advertised as a TON of fabric)..... Saw the sale 'after the fact' on Craig's List. Neddless to say, I'm watching now!!

What a find. You are going to have a great time finding projects for them. I need to start getting out more often. If you are interested in selling the white and black let me know, When I bought all that 81 yds, for $1 per yd., there was a lot of black with white prints, but not much white with black.
Well now, wasn't that fun!! Always good to have white on hand!
I used to always hear from my Dad, "When I was your age we'd go to the store with only a quarter and we'd get a bag of chips and a bottle of pop and a bunch of candy!" but I think you have him beat by a long shot! lol
I guess I need to start going to garage sales! What a find.
In a little town near me, a tiny little quilt shop just opened. While they don't have a large selection of fabric, notions, nor patterns, they are offering some classes, a place for the guild to meet and one fabulous deal. The great deal was a large table top mounded with scraps and empty plastic bags. The best deal....for $1.00....all you can stuff in that bag! Do you know how much you can stuff in a almost gallon sized bag???? I started to walk by, then something caught my eye and before I knew it, I was digging, stirring, and stuffing that plastic bag. If you roll or fold the scraps, it is amazing what you can fit in one small bag! A lot of the pieces I acquired that day were just scraps, but there were some 1/4 and some 1/2 yard pieces, some jelly strips, and a few charm squares, too. I tried to stick to pieces for an eventual eye spy quilt and those little pieces that just called my name and I fell in love with instantly. It might be awhile before they will change out the scraps enough to stuff again..............but it was a fun time searching and it was rewarding for me!
I went to a quilt show and sale and one of the ladies there had the same type of thing. She had the brown paper lunch bags and I stuffed and stuffed. Got myself some nice scraps.Quote:
