    Default Who Likes Purple?

Throwing this out there - a quilt tree. A chain letter type that some say is illegal, I say it isn't because if whoever signs up actually participates, everyone gets their squares. Anyways, I need 4 people to send a letter to along with 2 purple 6" squares, then you remove the name at the top of the list and add your name at the bottom. Make 4 copies of the letter and send it along with 2 different squares of purple fabric to 4 of your friends. You only need a total of 7 pairs (or 8 if you want to keep a pair for yourself). If you want to be one of the 4, please PM me your name and address.

I'll send to the first 4 who respond.

    Hugs,

I think that does qualify as a chain letter, just because it has fabric in it doesn't change the description.

A fabric swap is much more effective and fun. There is is host/hostess and a set of rules. A set number of ladies sign up, all ladies send in a set number of squares equal to that of the number that sign up by a certain date. The hostess then redistributes the squares and sends them to everyone that participated and sent in squares.

Just my opinion, this is much better

I know the whole chain letter type swap wouldn't work for me. I don't have 4 friends that sew, plus you never know if everyone you send to will participate or even bother to let you know they aren't interested.

Yup, I'd classify it as a chain letter swap.. Not a thing I want to do, since there is always one who drops the ball and everyone else suffers. "Why not just do a swap?? go to the group area and start one. Just follow the directions after you start a "new" one. Now that I would join, Just cause I love purples

    Light bulb moment!
So that's how a swap works...wasn't really sure.
I'd be interested in joining 'something purple', as long as it's not anything too fussy for the Newbies.

I have participated in many, many fabric swaps that was controlled so I do know how they work.
I only asked here because I already got the letter in the mail from a friend and wondered if anyone is interested.
