I'm in trouble now!!!
Not really, but this is kind of funny--My husband came in from work and I was sitting at the table sewing. As he closed the garage door, I thought I heard the mailman's truck. I asked him to look out the front window to see if it was the mail, and he said he was going toward the end of the street. I went out to get the mail while hubs took off his work boots. The mail had already passed, but he turned around and came back to just beyond our house. By this time, hubs was at the front door watching. The mailman stopped and handed me a box from our favorite quilt shop. I told him he was getting me in trouble! If he had left the box on the first trip, I could have sneaked it into the house. Hubs saw the package and asked me what it was. I said, "Nothing." Of course he doesn't care what I buy, but I thought it was funny.

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
I came home tonight and there were 2 packages on the table for me one from MSQC and one with books in it. DH always gets the mail because I'm at work. He did ask me once if I get packages every day and I told him "nope...mail don't run on Sunday". And now that I've thought about I don't even know why he asked - he's the one that gets the mail and deliveries so he should know.

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
The UPS and FedEx trucks know our place very well! I love to let my fingers do the shopping!

Love these stories and this forum! .....and All of You!!!!

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
DH is always teasing me about all the pkgs. I get from MSQC and sometimes Amazon but he is very supportive. I usually get the mail and I get all excited as I pull up into the driveway and see a package waiting on the porch.

Shirley, LOL funny! 'Mail don't run on Sundays..."
I squander cash for fabric and sometimes pay with half cash and half debit. When I checked out at JoAnn's the clerk was a little confused, I explained my mode of madness. 'My DH doesn't need to know everything...' She chuckled.
Do you think I have a problem?
Hi, my name is Sue and I'm addicted to fabric....

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
My UPS driver even puts packages in my car when I'm in town shopping...now that's a man who understands my addiction! :)

LOL! Never thought of doing this!!! Usually I get "How much did they get you for this time?" and I always fudge the amount a bit!

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
My DH doesn't say anything to me....because the way I see it is I don't drink, do drugs or gamble so with all the money I'm saving by not doing that I can buy fabric and supplies.

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
Mine isn't so bad, either Shirley. But I'm on a somewhat short lease as we are double-timing our retirement accounts!
And I get a knot in my stomach everytime he takes 'the book' out...
Auntpiggy, glad to be of help! LOL

Oh, I so miss Tom, the UPS driver we had in the small town I lived in, in Texas. There were 4 of us that ran around together while our kids were in grade school and Tom would find us someplace in town and hand us our packages through the window of the truck, or come into the restaurant where we were having lunch. His son went to the same school as our kids and he knew all our vehicles. When I moved to Alb. I was sending some things back to the girls and I sent them UPS. I had messages written all over the outside of the box to Tom. The UPS guy here in Alb. asked about them, if I wanted them blacked out. I explained that they were for the UPS guy on the other end. He was surprised that there was only one guy on a route (it was a town of 6000, a lot smaller than Alb.) but he really thought it was cool that I took the time to send messages to Tom.

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
You girls really are to funny. My UPS man got to know me by delivering packages from Bass Pro Shop. So DH does not say ANYTHING when I get packages. I live in a rural area, and my mail lady Karen, will come pulling in the drive way, jump out and as I get to the door, she is running at me arms empty, no packages in hand. She just needs to use the bathroom. Not sure if she does that to anyone else or not.

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
Shirley, Love the.....Nope, mail don't run on Sundays!!!! Too funny! My DH is very supportive of my quilting and he really enjoys joking around with me. When I first started quilting this past fall, he told me (with a look of utmost authority) that I couldn't buy any more fabric until he saw at least 2 pieces of fabric sewn together. Needless to say I was laughing before he finished saying it and he was trying to hide a smirk! What he didn't know at the time was that I was already working on his Saints quilt. When I made the label I added his comment about the "2 pieces of fabric"! Thank God for our supportive husbands :)

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
pc, I've finished 5 or 6 quilt tops. My REAL first top I sent to MSQC to be machine quilted, and DH was somewhere between 'blown away' and impressed. But he couldn't keep up with my productivity, and the $$ ($) to finish a quilt and send it out...
I have 2 finished to date. One was the machine-quilted from MSQC (AWESOME) the other old-school, tied
With embroidery thread (also AWSOME). Both binded by machine and hand. I got the strongest reaction from #2.
It may be my signature, I think! Let's hope it all holds up in the wash!

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
Funny! Shirley I really like your answer, too! My husband teases me that the UPS man and I must have something going on because he's always stopping at our house! lol We came home from fishing today and there lay two packages on our back porch. Guess I missed my rendezvous. :D

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
DH gets most of the UPS packages here while I'm at work. He bought a "new to him" 4-wheeler two weeks ago and last week I noticed a new box with a pic of fancy binoculars in his shop. He hadn't said anything about my packages before and I'm pretty sure he won't now!

We have an unspoken agreement--We don't discuss golf, guns, or sewing machines!!!

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
New York Sue, Have you posted pictures of your two quilts? If not, we'd love to see them! You guys with UPS drivers that hand over your package or put them in your car are too much! And the "I've got to go to the bathroom!" story was so funny!

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
That's to funny!!! We have to go to post to pick up our mail from our APO box. I always go the DH hardly checks the mail. So I've been ordering just thinking I was slick and he never knew. So he was checking his military email account in front of me and much to my surprise and embarrassment he get's emailed every time a package shows up!! The joke was totally on me!

Re: I'm in trouble now!!!
Years ago, when my oldest was taking Biology, we ordered some preserved animals for him to dissect. I was so excited when they finally arrived, just in time for that day's lesson, that I told the UPS man that I sure hoped he had my dead animals! Imagine the look on his face. He has never forgotten that and reminds me often that nope this package is not dead animals! Too funny! He will put packages in the barn if he can tell they are tractor parts and it might rain on them. He will put my packages, books and fabric, in the car or deliver to the neighbor....if I am not home. AWESOME guy!
