Nice thinking for a quick fix. That is your exhaust system. Please don't drive your car much until you get it repaired properly, or if you do have to drive it, make sure the windows are rolled down. Carbon dioxide could be seeping into your car since your muffler is detached.

Please follow Karen's advice...been there and done that...everyone had to go on oxygen for sometime....first warning sign is bad headache....so please get it repaired properly as soon as possible...very ingenious temporary fix!
Sorry to hear your muffler fell off. But please get it fixed quickly. I am sure it is one LOUD ride now. Be careful and keep the windows rolled down as Karen said. We don't want anything to happen to you.
