One thing that you could do is agree to make the quilt top, and let the customer have it quilted elsewhere, like at MSQC. That way, the person who pieces doesn't have to have heavy investment in machines that can quilt a big quilt, and at MSQC they will put together the backing and bind it, for a fee, of course. ( Jenny does all the binding herself, so you know it will be done beautifully!) And since they do this all day every day, the qulits are well done, and the customers bears the cost, and the piecer doesn’t have a lot of grief over doing the most difficult part of the job. This is how I would handle this if requested to make a big quilt.
