Does your sewing machine advance toward the rear of your desk as you sew? Does your foot pedal slip until it can't be reached? Get some of that non-slip shelf liner. Cut a piece to fit your machine and another for your foot pedal. Wa-la, problem solved. This liner is also good in your hubby's workshop to hold things in place. I believe you can also use it to keep a bowl from slipping as you wisk. I have it for my machine and foot pedal, and it works great.

Great idea....I am going to do this. I was looking at a foot pedal mat that I could purchase because my foot pedal moves around all the time.....this is much cheaper. Thanks!
Did you have to glue it to your foot pedal? or just placing it under works well enough? I need this! I am always chasing that thing!
I have hook velcro on one of my foot pedals, it sticks to the carpet, most of the time!
I already had the non-slip liner under my foot pedal and it wasn't strong enough for me! I did end up buying a foot pedal mat (it's much thicker and stickier) for about $5. and it works great. No slipping at all now. Don't have that problem with the machine since it's set in the table.
What a great idea. I am always chasing my foot pedal on the 'tile' floors. Not so much on the carpet.
I do not glue the liner to anything. My foot pedal will work itself off of the shelf liner, but I think I had cut the liner too smal. I have wood floors so the pedal really moves around without. My sewing machine creeps, too, but is VERY stable with the liner.

I never use a foot pedal anymore. Both my machines have start buttons that I am addicted to lol. Have never even unpacked the foot pedal. Thankfully neither machine wanders either but I have had that with previous machines and I used to use a mouse mat under it
