    Default DOES JENNY KNOW....

I was just watching a few tutorials trying to decide what I want to make next. I was watching the Springtime flower tutorial. Jenny makes it look so easy and she gives you the confidence to know you can do it. She has such wonderful energy in every tutorial, and it can't be easy doing that for a camera and having it end up feeling like it's just you and her and she's showing you a wonderful new idea she came up with. I've watched all (or nearly all) her tutorials, and I have learned more than I can believe! I am doing things with fabric I never dreamed I would. I see that others on this forum have had the same experience. The other day I watched one and when she started she said "once you learn this it opens up a whole new world!" And she was right. And so with all this in mind, I can't help but wonder:

Does Jenny know what an inspiration she is to us? She is influencing a generation.

My Grandaughter came on here and posted that she was new to sewing and looking for ideas; some (many) of you replied with ideas for her and directed her to Jenny's tutorials. Within an hour she came to me and said "Gramma, look what I did"....she was holding out the D9P and it was AWESOME. She is 11!

Now, I know that the tuts are good for M* business. I know that it has to boost their sales. But seriously, Jenny is such a genuine wonderful lady and she's got this uncanny ability to make you know you can do it. She breaks it down and makes it easy and it all makes sense. Do you think she knows the impact she's making? I mean....really?

And finally....this forum! What a wonderful group of people. There is so much support and joy and fun here. I can't believe I stumbled onto this just when my real quilting journey began. I feel like some of you are like my Mother, my best friend and my sister all rolled up into one! Do you know how rare this is?

I hope someday I can visit M* and say face to face "You have influenced me in a big big way, and made a wonderful difference in my life".

So, do you think Jenny knows?

Libby, I feel the same way! When I got to visit the shop a couple of weeks ago, I was talking to Jackie (she does customer relations) about this. She said Jenny is getting this message beause so many people come in and tell her this. Jenny is so humble that she doesn't let it affect her genuineness. I tried to tell her exactly what you said when I got to talk to her personally. She is one unique person who has touched so many lives. It is truly amazing, isn't it? I think that is why hearing about their accident was so traumatic, we could have lost our hero and her dear husband if God hadn't been with them that day. For them being spared, I can truly say "Thank Heaven!"

EXACTLY! I don't think there's any way she really knows the impact she's having. I wonder if she ever reads the forum. If she does, she probably clicks out of it quickly because she's got that unique quality about her....wouldn't want to see all we have to say ABOUT her, you know?

She's going to leave behind one HUGE legacy. That's something we all aspire to, but few achieve.

She told me she doesn't have time to read the forum, but I think you are right on about her humility, which would make her not read about herself.

All I'm gonna say is that if it weren't for Jenny's tutorials, I wouldn't be the quilter I am today!!

She comes across as someone who is a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Her passion for life and quilting is contagious and her videos are so easy to understand. Jenny is one special woman!

I see her tutorials are popping up on more and more quilting websites too.

I owe Jenny for me getting my passion for quilting back. I had not done any quilting after my grandson was injured. My entire life was focused on him, his sisters, and my daughter. I did not allow any time for what I had once been so passionate about. After a friend told me she was going to be a great granny, I then decided I needed to make them a baby quilt. Had tons of fabric, but nothing was really inspiring me, so I looked at some of Jenny's tuts. Holy cow!!! She touched me in a way that's hard to describe, and lit the fire under me again. I then decided to give back to the hospital that took such wonderful care of my little man. Now I am back to with with a vengance, and I owe that to Jenny. And not to over look this forum. It has been a God Send for me. The members are so helpful and friendly. And I must say I have made some true friends on here. This is where I come for advice and solace. Looking at what others make and the talent they have is a true blessing.

I don't think she has any idea the number of people she has impacted, and I surely can see that she wouldn't be comfortable with the notion. That said, I'm SO thankful I stumbled her way and found this awesome forum! Less than a year later, a dedicated sewing room, 4 finished quilts, 6 finished tops and a growing stash. And ALL of you! WOOHOO!
I think this is the kind of entrepreneurship our President speaks of. Excellent business model! We'll show you how, and by the way, we have this ADORABLE fabric at our shop...., but in a non-pushy sort of way.
Just think how this ONE company has impacted the economy, in so many ways! It's mind numbing. Rumor has it (heard on this forum) a group of quilters stormed WalMart HQ and demanded they keep their fabric, and demanded better fabric. Well, I've noticed an expanded department, and improved product line in my store within the last month!! I LOVE it!
I'd like to storm JoAnn's HQ and demand more MODA pre-cuts! (JEEZ, ANY Moda pre-cuts, who am I fooling?)
Love to deal with MSQC all the same, but the visual, touchy-feely-purchase-ponder would be SO nice closer to home....
