Default Pillow cases for sick kids

    Hi Folks,

I haven't been here in a while, with summer and my garden and flowers I've just been lurking every now and then. Anyway, I would like to do some sewing but nothing too involved, just something quick that can be finished in a day. During the winter I had read a blog or post in the past about a lady whos daughter has an illness that requires her to be hospitalized frequently. This childs mom sews pillowcases and has a blog asking others to sew pillowcases for the kids too. This is something that I'd like to do when I have spare time this summer. They would be quick and easy.

My question (finally), does anyone know who this is or have you ever heard of this. I have no idea of the name or the hospital. I think the daughter had an unusual name or unusual spelling. Sorry I don't have more info, but its been awhile since I had read this. Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if Jenny might know. Here's her tutorial on pillowcases and she does mention an organization in the video.

Good luck on your search! Sounds like a very worthy cause and a great way to use your time and fabric.

Hi Karen - yes, hasn't the weather just been perfect for getting our flowers and gardens in this year? Of course I am still working on digging weeds out of dad's garden and it really needs planted now.

Please check out May in Jerset (yes, that is spelled right) here on the forum about the pillowcases. I know her, she is such a sweet lady. Anyways, she lists a link where you can drop off your pillowcases - well, you'll see when you read her post. Hope that helps you out some.

    Hugs,

If you go to Conkerrcancer.org you'll see how these pillowcases are made and where you can donate them. It's a lovely organization. I've made many pillowcases for them.

Karen, I think this is what you are looking for:

"If you would like to help Heaven and I put a smile on a childs face by handing them a pillow from "Pillows from Heaven Above" you can go to our new blog http://pillowsfromheaven.blogspot.com

Thanks you all so much for your continued prayer and support for our daughter and family.

If you would like to keep up with what going on with us you can visit our family blog at http://thecoblerscorner.blogspot.com"

This is from Angela C's post about her daughter Heaven. She is a member of this forum.

I just am seeing this thread. Our own Angela has a precious daughter Heaven who has been in and out of the hospital with leukemia therapy/treatments. For a while Angela was making pillows but is now making pillow cases. Please consider visiting her blog and contacting Angela as she is truly in the thick of working through this horrid leukemia with Heaven, seeing all the other children who are affected by this disease, and doing what she can to spread the love of the Lord and add faith to these many other families.
You can see her blog at: http://pillowsfromheaven.blogspot.com/

You will fall in love with Angela, Heaven and the rest of the Cobler family. They are inspiring.

    Blessings
