    Default YIKES!!!

Talk about a close call! I went to our patio area which is right next to the house and took a few pictures for my blog. While resizing the pictures I noticed I had been standing next to a copperhead snake! Yikes!...those guys are mean and poisonous! His picture is in the right corner of the top photo of my blog for today. I'm so thankful he didn't strike...

Just glad you are alright... maybe it was too cool for any movement and it crawled up there to get some heat from your stone work. Normally they leave or flee when there's a human around. Only when cornered or feel threatened do they fight back.

Where are all these Poisonous Snakes coming from?? I thought I'd killed them all off back in the farming days of my youth.. I
was feared by ALL crawling things... Me and My sling shot!!

OMG, no wonder you can't see him on that gravel rock! I would have peed in my pants! I hate, hate snakes. We had so many in La Verne, especially rattlesnakes. Nothing better than a dead snake!

Glad you didn't get bit! (((Barb)))

Oh Barb! That is very scarey! That was was too close for me.
This has been a real snaky time here in NC as well. let's send them somewhere else, like way out in the middle of nowhere-ville.

I've been told there is a "shortage" of rodents this year (some kind of a cycle they go through) and it looks like it might be nation-wide. Here in New England we don't have the snakes to worry about, but the rodent shortage is causing more ticks to latch onto people and pets. My sister lives in So. California, and she has had MANY rattlesnakes in her yard this year. Way too close for my comfort.

I'm glad you're all right Barb. That snake certainly blends in--I can't find him in your picture.

I'm with Martha - I even enlarged the picture and really couldn't see it. YIKES!
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
