Re: A story thread...
While watching the hub-bub on T.V. about the unusual mascot ( Nan the Fire Goat) at Fire Station 13, Daniel and Gertrude Slavinsky were finishing up cleaning their kitchen. It had been a good day for them, and they loved their little family style restaurant. Daniel said, "Well love, one more trip to the dumpster and we can head home." Gertrude just smiled gave him a peck on the cheek and started to stow away the mop and bucket. As Daniel opened the door, much to his surprise, he saw a beautiful Dalmation jump and run for the shadows.............

Re: A story thread...
Afraid of being caught Dot took refuge behind the dumpster. Hunkering close to the ground she held her breathe as Daniel's foot steps got closer. "Oh,there you are dog .Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you".

Re: A story thread...
Dot looked at Daniel cautiously, but her hunger overcame her trepidation and she slowly moved to Daniel's outstretched hand. Sniffing his fingertips, he tenderly reached out to pet her head, whispering sweet sounds to calm the dog. Dot gingerly moved closer as Daniel offered some of the table scraps originally intended for the dumpster.

Re: A story thread...
Ahhh, thought Dot. I could get used to this dining fare - much better than the remnants of Fire House Chili that were frequently scraped into her bowl back at the station. Daniel stood patiently by while allowing Dot room to inspect and eat the scraps he'd carried out. He had been gone long enough to arouse suspicion by his loving Gertie and she came looking for him. Another human in the area startled Dot but her hunger won out. Gertie peeked and saw Dot then told Daniel . . .
