The goat curled beside the fireman and enjoyed her ride back to the fire station.

Once they arrived back at the fire station, a comfy bed was made for the nanny goat next to the dalmatian fire dog, Dot.

Dot wasn't too pleased to be sharing her space with a Nanny Goat, after all this one smelled like she'd been too close to the bar-b-que and the scorched hair aroma was pretty nauseating. Dot decided it was time to pack her bags and hit the high road. First she put in her PJs and toiletries, then she grabbed her favorite quilt and slid down the fireman's pole . . .

When the fire alarm rang in the night, with Dot gone the Nanny jumped on the truck in Dot's place.

When the fire alarm rang in the night, with Dot gone the Nanny jumped on the truck in Dot's place.

As they flew down the street, sirens blaring, Miss Nan was contentedly chewing her cud next to her favorite burly and handsome fireman. Several blocks later, they pulled up to the address where Mrs. Whiggins was frantically rubbing her hands yelling, "Oh My, my dear Whiskers is up the tree again!!!" The crew looked at each other smiling as this was a weekly call. They drew straws to see who would be the poor guy to climb the tree and get Whiskers back to terra firma again. All of a sudden................Nan quickly clambers down from the truck, trots to the tree and proceeds to climb to the highest branches...............

( ok, ok, so the sun rose very early, you know how hard it is to get a pix of a goat in a tree at NIGHT?)

The kitty is pretty hungry and the goat offers to let it nurse some milk.

With their jaws gaping wide and their eyes popping from their sockets, the firemen stood in wonder. It looked as if they would have a brand new mascot to keep them company. Meanwhile, Mrs. Whiggins grasped her chest, let out a giant sigh and began to cry . . . and Whiskers calmly climbed down from his lofty perch and curled up around Mrs. Whiggins' feet.

As the firemen returned to the station, there was much discussion about Nan's peculiar but incredible capabilities and save for the day. Also the sadness all felt with Dot being M.I.A. After searching, they discovered she had abandoned them with her favorite belongings intact. They made calls, hung posters, contacted all Vets in the area hoping to get her back home. In the meantime, Nan's uncanny capabilities captured the hearts and imaginations of her new family. They decided to adopt her permanently and this crest was formed.........................

Meanwhile, as darkness grew near, a very tired, hungry and frightened Dot was seeking shelter in an abandoned building on the South side of town many ,many miles from her old warm and comfy home
