  1. Hi Carol Ann! Latest project is a girl's quilt for QFK - this one also sponsored by my employer. It came together beautifully yesterday, kept it simple with a sashed 4 patch with wide borders. Got the top done and it's in my Works in Progress album. Would love to spend today quilting but housework and grocery shopping will kill most of my time. But I'll probably get a good start on the machine quilting - doing a loop de loop, it's sooooo easy.

Can't wait till you post pictures of your latest!

By the way, you had a hand in this quilt - your friend made a child's purse out of butterfly fabric with a coordinating stripe as an accent fabric. I found the butterfly fabric at J's, but they didn't have the stripe. I knew from your pic that it was out there so found it online . It's such a pretty combo I couldn't resist copying your friend.
  2. Hi Deb !
    So what's your latest project?
I'm working on my first mystery quilt. I don't like not having an idea of what it may look like. I'm still in the process of cleaning out my sewing room too. Today I put together a small appliqued wall hanging that my quilt group chose to make as a class project.
  3. Hi Carol Ann! Just popping in for a cup of tea and a quick hello. Working on my boy's QFK quilt lately... what's keeping you busy?
  4. Hey there! I know what you mean about spending less time chatting and reading here, and more time sewing. You certainly have a lot to show for your time, Carol Ann!

I've been working on FMQ, doing freehand motifs - flowers, sun, birds. Not sure if I'm going to stop there or do stippling in between the shapes - that's a real committment of time!

Here's my favorite article on FMQ, and one I think you'd enjoy reading if you haven't already. Dragonfly posted it here in the forums and I saved it in my Favorites. You download the pdf file and its worth printing. http://www.quiltingdaily.com/user/Co...1-621f7af10297
  5. So sweet of you to leave such encouraging words. I've been trying to spend less time on this site and more time at the sewing machine. Then I miss you girls & just have to catch up reading a little of what's going on. If I could have one wish, it would be to have all of you come to my home and play !
  6. Hi Carol Ann, Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed looking through your updated albums. It is a true pleasure to look at your work.
  7. Hi, Deb!
I got your card today. It was very thoughtful. You brought me a bit of sunshine ! So nice to have a friend such as you.
  8. Hi Carol Ann!

How are you doing? Did you finish your bunny wall hanging yet?

I got my QFK quilt done and shipped two weeks early. Loved doing the quilt, was interesting to work with colors I hadn't used before.

I can't tell you how much I've loved having the patterns to sit and read through in the eveings during tv time, and during down time at work. When I've finished my current projects I think I"m going to try the Lazy Girl Designs Wonder Wallet!

I'm working on another pinwheel project, this one for my boss's birthday in early May. She loves yellow and blue, which makes things easy, as I have most of a True Blue charm pack, and purchased more blue florals to make 37 light/dark pinwheels... I'm going to make another Basket of Flowers runner, but with pinwheels instead of 5" charm blocks. This'll make for a larger runner, since the pinwheels are between 5.5" and 6.0" blocks.

Hope all's well with you and Chris and Lexi!
  9. What have I been doing? Well, Soon I plan to finish a spring bunny wall hanging I found in the April Quick Quilts magazine. I'm doing a second one in soft pastels ... should I need a gift for a baby girl I could embroider her birth info on it. Spent this weekend giving my granddaughter her first quilt lesson. She has made a couple of blocks of the pinwheel pattern.
  10. Hi there Carol Ann! How are you? What have you been sewing?

I couldn't make much time for sewing last week, and have a family affair that will take up most of Sunday, but I think I can finish the binding on my Quilts for Kids quilt before Monday. That wrap around binding sure goes fast, and it's only my second experience with a zig zag stitch, so that's fun.

All else well; how goes puppy parenthood?
